Tafel Announces Tornos as Sponsor for 2007 Season
CUMMING, GA—Tafel Racing is proud to announce that Tornos, a worldwide manufacturer of high technology, high precision turning solutions, has partnered with them as a corporate sponsor for the 2007 season.  Tornos, which has its U.S. operations based in Stansbury, CT, serves the small parts turning industry in many areas including automotive, medical, watch, electronic and micro electronic parts.

Tornos US President Scott Kowalski feels that the relationship will be beneficial to both organizations. "We are honored to sponsor the Tafel Racing Car #72 for the 2007 racing season and think the partnership will be mutually beneficial for all parties involved. Our co-sponsor and distributor, North South Machinery shares with us the common goal of maintaining an unprecented level of customer support and satisfaction.  We are certain that the racing events across North America will supercharge our customer relationships and reinforce the Winning Energy of Tornos all across the Tornos organization!"

Team owner Jim Tafel appreciates the confidence Tornos has shown in his organization through their sponsorship. “I’m certainly proud of what we have accomplished in a short time and having a company such as Tornos, with its reputation for excellence, partner with us just reinforces what we are trying to do.  We aim to win, and we know that the best way to accomplish that is through professionalism and attention to detail.  That fits well with Tornos and its corporate identity.”

This is Tafel Racing’s third year of competition in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Special Reserve. After finishing fifth in the championship in 2005, the team fielded a three-car effort in 2006 which finished second, fifth, and tenth.

This season, Tafel will run two cars for the entire 2007 season with the 72 North-South Machinery Porsche GT3 Cup being driven by Nathan Swartzbaugh of Brea, CA and Andrew Davis of Bogart, GA.
