Alex Figge pilots the No. 73 Tafel Racing Ferrari F430 GTC with owner/driver Jim Tafel (Alpharetta, Ga.). Debuted in the GT2 class at the Utah Grand Prix marking his first season competing in the class, racing a Ferrari and running Michelin tires. Made a single Champ Car start in the Series’ final event, the Grand Prix of Long Beach, finishing 14th. PERSONAL:From growing-up in Davenport, Iowa and now living in Denver, Colorado, Alex Figge is devoted to outside activities. He enjoys skiing, snowboarding, wakeboarding and dirt biking. His love of architecture led to building his own home. When he has a quiet moment he is a voracious reader and lover of music. His devotion to music is so strong that he built his own recording studio and produces music under the independent record label, Umbrella Entertainment. 2007Ran his first full season of the Champ Car World Series with Pacific Coast Motorsports (PCM) finishing 17th in final standings. Career-high finish of 11th at the season-finale in Mexico City. 2006Full season of Grand-Am Daytona Prototype (DP) competition with PCM. Best finish of second at both Phoenix and Laguna Seca. 2005Ran first full season of American Le Mans Series competition driving a GT1 class Corvette for PCM. Earned five class top-10 finishes. Earned best finish of third at Portland. One Grand-Am DP start with PCM finishing sixth at Mexico City. 2004
Last season of Champ Car Atlantic Series for PCM. Earned one victory (Monterrey, Mexico), two podium finishes and two front row starts. Finished seventh in the championship. Awarded the Michael Rosen Memorial Award for “dedication, perseverance and his desire to succeed.”
2003
Champ Car Atlantic Series with PCM. Two top-five finishes and nine top-ten finishes in 12 races. Finished ninth in championship.
2002
Rookie season in Champ Car Atlantic Series. Best finish of sixth, one front row start with World Speed Motorsports.
2001
U.S. Formula Ford 2000 Series. Two pole positions. Set track record at Moroso.
His start- Skipped the traditional route of racing karts by starting his career in the Pro-Formula Mazda Series. Earned three wins (1998) and two pole positions between 1998 and 2000.
